What’s the best/preferred general surf fishing locations in and around Jacksonville? Fernandina? Little Talbot? Jax Beach? St. Augustine…?

It really depends on personal preference… The bite could be great at any beach in the area.

There’s the convenience factor — how far do you want to drive? And then there’s other considerations, like atmosphere, pedestrian traffic, etc. I personally love fishing the surf at Amelia Island by George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier, but you need a 4WD vehicle to access the beach there. Huguenot Park is a good alternative, it can be fun to fish the jetty there, but it’s a little industrial for my liking.

Yeah I like Amelia Island, and St. Augustine Beach, too — but you also gotta be really careful without 4WD. South of Jax Beach can be good to avoid too much beach traffic, but if it can be tough to find a parking spot, especially on the weekend.
